Although the gospel of Christ has spread throughout the known world for the last ,000 years, there are still many people groups who do not have the Bible in their own language and many who havent even heard of Jesus Christ. Research is being done to determine how many people groups there are that still do not have a Christian church movement among them. They are the truly unreached peoples. This page is our effort to share information about some of the unreached people groups that we have heard about and are praying for. Wont you join us in praying that God will soon send missionaries to tell them about the Saviour and His gift of eternal life?

NOTE Please pray to the Lord with us that He soon put together a Team of Servants here at New Life Farm that will work together, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, to finish the task to which He has called us; namely to raise funds for missionaries, and build a missionary training center here. Anyone interested in applying to become part of the team should send us their testimony and resume. Thank you for considering this need and responding as the Lord leads. In Jesus love.....David Hunt

Angola is home to a number of people groups without a missionary, without written language, without a Bible or any Bible portion. Consequently they are without schools and often in desperate need of primary health care. The Bochimanes, for example, live in four areas of South-eastern Angola. One group of them suffers badly from a parasite entering through the skin of the feet. As of this writing, nothing is known regarding an effort made by the Angolan government to bring crucial health care facilities to these people and to preserve them from extinction.

In Mordecai Richlers novel The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, the protagonist Duddy Kravitz, dreamed of becoming successful; but he chooses to lie, cheat, and manipulate certain individuals to get to the point of success that he wants.

A man must pursue his dreams. This is certainly true for everyone, for if there were no dreams, there would be no reason to live. Duddy Kravitz understands this perfectly, that is why he is ambitious. From the moment he hears his grandfather says, A man without land is nobody,(48) he is prepared to seek the land of his dream, no matter what the cost would be. This ambition of his is very respectable, but unfortunately his methods are hateful.

During his study in the parochial school, he already earns money by taking advantage of the fact that minors cannot be sued in Canada; Duddy defrauds stamp companies and sells stolen hockey sticks.

The moment that Duddy began the creation of his film company, it could be seen that he was willing to do anything to get money, even if he had to lie. For example, the film Duddy made for the bar mitzvah was of very poor quality, and as a result, the product was an obvious failure. Duddy himself knew that well, Duddy didn't say a word all though the screening but afterwards he was sick to his stomach. (148). Later, Duddy said to Mr. Friar I could sell Mr. Cohn a dead horse easier then this pile of _ (148). After this incident, Duddy does not even speak honestly to Mr. Friar and Mr Cohen anymore. The only way Duddy sells his waste films is by telling lies. He always lies to gain money; and gaining money is all that Duddy cares about.

Duddy has never been loved by his family, so he was quite happy to know that Yvette cared about him. At the beginning, when Yvette and Duddy first fell in love she told him. It's so nice to see you lie still for once, she said. Your always running or jumping or scratching.() Duddy was surprised and flattered to discover that anyone cared enough to watch him so closely.

Duddy manipulates Yvette to get land, The farmers would be wary of a young Jew, they might jack up prices or even refuse to see, but another French Canadian would not be suspect. (100) Duddy was to young to marry, not even to a rich woman if he could get one; but if Yvette helped him he would always look after her, and she would get a share in the profit. Basically, Duddy was manipulating Yvette so that she would sign the papers. Will you just sign, please? and Yvette signed. Well, said Duddy cheers. But Yvette didnt lift her glass. (0) Duddy used Yvette to sign, because Duddy could not legally own the land as a minor, erego his reasons for employing Yvette to act as a figurehead in his purchase. Duddy had used Yvette as a tool so that he could get land. As it was, Yvette had fought with her family because of Duddy being a Jew. As Yvette says, My brother found out I'm living with you…I won't be able to see my parents again. (18) Yvette has been used badly by Duddy, she thinks that Duddy actually loves her but he doesnt.

Virgil is another type of victim that Duddy takes full advantage of due to his physical disabilities, Virgil, I owe you a thousand bucks. Right? Right? What would you say if for that thousand bucks I could put my hands on just the truck for you? (15) Virgil is innocent enough not to know what is happening. He is also very grateful and flattered to know that Duddy is willing to hire him. He accepts the job immediately. Its important to note that Duddy knows the pinball machines cost more than the truck. As it is Duddy clearly takes full advantage of Virgil by stealing money out of his bank account for land. Duddy took a quick look at Virgil's bank balance, whistled, noted his account number and ripped out two cheques. He forged the signature by holding the cheque and a letter Virgil had signed up to the window and tracing slowly. (07,08) This is a clear indication that Duddy has chosen his path in life and has become an inconsiderate person.

Duddy loses the respect and trust of his close friends and family to achieve the landhe desires. Hes lost the approval of his friends when he becomes so self-indulged that he forgets all about Yvette and Virgil. They lose all all trust in him when he purchases the last bit of land, by stealing the money from Virgil, and then refusing the help of anyone else. The worst part about his losses is that he is warned on many different occasions; for example, Youre too sure of yourself. (10) and I knew youd get your fingers burnt one day (51). He was warned to take it slow but chose to ignore the advice of others. All the effort Duddy put towards his life was so that he could make his grandfather proud, but instead he ends up hurting his grandfather and loses any respect his grandfather may of had for Duddy.

Duddy uses other tragic events and the disabilities of others as nothing more than another suitable way to advance to his own goals. Duddy has chosen the wrong kind of man to become, which leads him to become a true failure. To become successful you have to accomplish your favorable outcome by being a person of high moral standing, and one who maintains the respect of his peers.

Demand Paper for Contract Services

Introduction

The contract services department at Caterpillar Financial provides temporary financial relief to customers who have financed Caterpillar equipment through Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation. This paper explains the demand for such services and how the needed personnel are forecasted.

Patterns of Demand

In the text Krajewski states (00 p. 175), at the root of most business decisions is the challenge of forecasting customer demand. This is the one of the most important pieces of the operating plan. In the contract services department, we are forecasting the demand for modifications to existing contracts. The modifications consist of skip payments, interest only payments, extensions to term, due date changes, transfers and assumptions, and refinances (consolidation of two or more contracts). To predict the demand for these services, patterns must be identified. According to Krajewski and Ritzman (00), there are five basic patterns for demand. These are listed below

1. Horizontal the fluctuation of data around a mean.

. Trend the systematic increase or decrease in the mean of the series over time.

. Seasonal a repeatable pattern of increases and decreases in the demand depending on the time of day, week, month or season.

4. Cyclical less predictable gradual increases or decreases in demand over longer periods of time (years or decades).

5. Random unforecastable, variation in demand.

Of these patterns, contract services can measure a demand pattern that is based on trend and seasonal projections. With the construction business, the busy season is usually in the summer and fall months of the year. For example, forestry equipment is used more when the weather is dry, usually in the summer months and in the fall. The equipment cannot be used when the ground is wet and muddy. During the summer and fall, owners of the construction equipment can start and finish jobs without interruption. This means that their accounts receivables are coming in steadily and therefore the customer can make his payments. On the other hand, the winter and spring cause delays in completing jobs causing the customer's cash flow to become stagnated or sometimes nonexistent. These are seasonal patterns of demand and also suggest a trend for measuring the number of modification and the type of modification. Factors affecting the demand for contract services can be divided into external forces and internal forces.

As stated in the previous paragraph, depending on the particular season, external factors can determine the demand for modifications. Some external factors are the weather, equipment breakdowns, slow economy, and many others. The main external factor is usually the weather. The rain and snow are two weather anomalies that can cause major havoc with construction jobs. When rain causes flooding, the machines can't be moved. The same with ice storms and snow storms. The ground is frozen; therefore the machines cannot dig. The economy can also cause demand for modifications to contracts. Customers can't get the jobs at the price they need so they underbid for the contracts. This causes negative cash flow. The customer still has to pay his employees, overhead, and material expenses. Underbidding or not having enough jobs creates a strain and the solution is usually to try and get deferments on installment loans.

Internal factors can also play a part in the demand for contract services. The department also corrects the errors of the documentation department. Contract errors create just as much demand for modifications as external factors. The errors are caught after the contract has been booked (input) into the system. Therefore, the adjustments have to be made by contract service employees. The number of employees needed to perform the services can be forecasted by the demand patterns caused by the external and internal factors.

Forecasting for the number of employees

The number of employees needed to perform the services provided by contract modifications can be measured by recording the number of requests for modification in any given month. The unit of measurement is the number of requests. This can be broken down into the various types of requests such as skip payments and transfers and assumptions. In the contract services department all requests are entered into a program that keeps track of the number and types of modifications and when they are requested. The request is entered when it the representative is assigned and receives the request. The type of request is chosen, and the date and time is entered. The number of requests for any given period can then be summarized in a report prepared by the system. The report can pull the number of requests for the month, week, or day. The report can also categorize the data by type and whether or not the request has been completed. These reports are used to track the seasonal trends in demand for modifications. This method uses the statistical methods to calculating the personnel resources needed to provide quality service in a timely manner.

According to the text, this method of forecasting is called a time series analysis. Time series analysis is a statistical approach that relies heavily on historical demand data to project the future size of demand and recognizes trends and seasonal patterns(00, p.178). Another method that uses historical data is the casual method. This method uses historical data that based on independent variables, in this case economic conditions and the weather. Using these forecasting techniques, the manager can determine the number of employees needed to process the amount of requests at any given time.

The contract services department is divided into two sections- refinances and transfer and assumption and modifications. Modifications include all the other types of requests stated previously. Each section has its own demand pattern. The reports generated each month showing the number and type of request and compared and averaged for the quarter. The results then help management determine the number of employees needed to complete the modification requests. The workload can also be equally allocated depending on the number of employees. For example, when modifications is in its busy season, an employee can be pulled from refinances to help with the workload. The demand for refinances has a pattern that is opposite of modifications. The busy season for the refinance/ transfer and assumption section is the spring and summer. Therefore the employee pulled can go back when his/her busy season starts and management can determine if another employee is needed also. Forecasting for demand and the number of employees is necessary for budgeting purposes also. The department has to budget for salaries and departmental expenses and forecasting demand can provide for needed extra expense without going over the budget.

Planning for Improvement in Forecasting Demand

As with any forecasting method, errors can occur. To improve on the reduction of errors in the reporting method, the representative must be through and accurate when inputting data into the program used to track the number and type of requests. The data must be entered in a timely manner and include all the necessary information from the request. Errors in data input can occur at any time but especially at the end of the month when deadlines for completion of requests are required. The input of the request can often be forgotten or input after the report is generated. By having a set workflow process, this type of error can be minimized. The representative is provided with a checklist to be sure that each task involved with the request is completed. If there are any missing checkmarks, the representative can go back to make sure it has been completed or complete the task if it was not. Training is another way to improve upon eliminating errors. Each representative is provided the proper training in entering data into the system and on how the requests are processed. By utilizing these improvement plans, the data used for forecasting will be accurate and reliable.

Summary

The definition of a forecast, according to Krajewski and Ritzman (00, p.174) is a prediction of future events used for planning purposes. Forecasting is an important aspect to any business. There must be a demand for services and the pattern of that demand predicts the necessary elements needed to meet that demand. In this paper, it is the number of employees needed to process the requests for modifications. Every department in a corporation or manufacturing firm uses forecasting for its services and products. Supply and demand goes hand in hand. The demand for a product or service has to be known to keep the necessary supply on hand.

William Shakespeare, who was recognized as one of literature?s greatest influences, was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, 1564. His baptism was held on April rd, but there were no records on the date of his birth, therefore his birthday was pretended to be on April rd, 1564. William Shakespeare was the third of eight children to be born of John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. William had composed 154 sonnets and written 7 plays through which he added about 1,500 words to the English language, some of which are still used by modern humans nowadays. For instance; cold-blooded, employer, to gossip, to misquote, and worthless.

In 15 Shakespeare paid the acting company a particular amount of money which made 1.5 percent of the cost of building the Globe Theater. The Globe Theatre, in the Southwark district of London, was the venue at which the best known stage works were first produced. History says that Shakespeare made elaborate plans of where should he place the music in his plays. Shakespeare believed that the music would attract audiences? senses and fall into their imaginations. Music added more life into the plays. It helped in the dramatic purpose in the production. For instance, an example from an internet source, the script for Macbeth calls for many musical attributes singing, dancing, drums, trumpet fanfares, woodwinds, and bell chiming. The music gallery was placed on the third level specifically over the upper curtain stage in the Globe Theater. Shakespeare?s music could be ?divided into 4 main categories? stage music, magic music, character music, and atmospheric music.

The stage music consists of music cued by occasional announcements or actions on the stage. Some examples would be trumpets playing loudly at a battle or background music at a banquet.

Magic music comes together with the feelings of love, dreaming, or phenomenal events. For instance, in a Midsummer?s Night Dream, the fairies sing a beautiful soothing lullaby for the character Titania?s to go to sleep.

Character music shows every detail in personality of the character it portrays. This kind of music could make you understand the characteristics that wont be able to be showed on stage. Just like a character Ophelia in the play Hamlet, who?s craziness is unleashed through her voice in songs.

Of all the four types of music, Atmospheric is the most complicated. It describes the emotions of the play; love, anger, hate, jealousy and a violent mood.

These music categories were one of many reasons Shakespeare?s plays were so successful. They explained Shakespeare?s beliefs about music and what a big role it represents in the plays. This kind of music helps the audience with understanding the concept of the play.

During the late middle ages and Renaissance period, the instruments were setting a mood for particular scenes like love, hate etc. These are the instruments that were used In Shakespeare?s plays the viol, the lute, the recorder, the bagpipe, the virginal, the cornet, tabor and fife, and the Hautboy.

The viol is one of the stringed instruments which were very popular during 16th century. It has a particularly the same form as violin but larger, has 6 strings, and the neck furnished with frets for stopping the strings. (http//www.dictionary.com)

The lute is a plucked instrument having a pear-shaped body and a neck with a fretted fingerboard that is usually bent. Usually the lute accompanied a singer of a serenade, and lute players used their own form of musical notation called tablature.

The recorder attainted popularity through its sweet tone, usually portrayed in plays as a nightingale. The recorder belongs to the flute family, the recorder has a mouthpiece similar to a flageolet.

The Bagpipe is a musical wind instrument, now used chiefly in the Highlands of Scotland. It usually referred to in the texts of Shakespeares plays. The bagpipe has flexible bag inflated either by a tube with valves or by bellows, a double-reed melody pipe, and from one to four drone pipes.

The virginals, named after the Virgin Queen Elizabeth, has a rectangular form, like the small piano. The virginal comes from a keyboard family.

The cornet is a wind instrument of the trumpet class, having three valves operated by pistons. It is a type of horn, the cornet had a cup-like mouth piece like the trumpet, with six holes on one side for the fingers, and one hole on the opposite side for the thumb.

Tabor and fife is a small, high-pitched hand drum that is paired up with fife in a performance. It?s similar to a piccolo.

The hautboy is a wind instrument, sounded through a reed. it?s similar in shape to the clarinet, but with a thinner tone.

The works of Shakespeare were expanding during the 1th century. Romantic composers like Berlioz and Tchaikovsky were influenced by Shakespeare?s wonderful works. An english poet who?s intelligent works are considered to be the greatest in English literature. William Shakespeare, this name will never be forgotten.

Restaging The Mousetrap

In Shakespeare's Hamlet, we learn of the unfolding spectacle within a young man's family through his thoughts, doubts and hesitations that eventually precipitate acts of both premeditated and sudden revenge. Although it'd be unfair to pigeonhole the Prince of Denmark as an indecisive man of melancholy, he certainly does spend most of his time wrestling with the truth behind the alleged events that have taken place within Elsinore's walls. Through all his sulking, Hamlet remains a calculating individual, despite eccentric tactics that would appear otherwise. It seems likely that a man's behavior, marked by a clear decision to act as if he is crazy (while abusing the people around him and giving free expression to antisocial thoughts), would be hard to assess regarding the indistinct point at which he stops pretending to be crazy and starts actually being crazy.

However, what makes this emotional turmoil most interesting with regard to Hamlet, is the fact that he maintains a relatively clear head in spite of himself when trying to ascertain whether his Uncle bears any responsibility in the matter of the Dane's untimely death. With help from Horatio, Hamlet best demonstrates his resolve in act three, scene two, where he stages The Mousetrap, a clever parable involving a past story regarding the murder of the Duke of Urbino. The play within the play mirrors the murder of Hamlet's father at the hands of his Uncle Claudius, while also foreshadowing the death of Claudius at the hands of his nephew. Up until this point in the play, Hamlet has struggled with the confessions of a ghost, unable to make any clear distinctions regarding the accuracy of his heavy accusations. Therefore, what makes this scene so crucial, as well as why I chose it as the scene that I would stage, is that it marks the point where Hamlet is determined to expose his Uncle, saying that [I]f his occulted guilt do not itself unkennel in one speech, it is a damned ghost that we have seen and my imaginations are as foul as Vulcan's stithy. Hamlet believes that the play is an opportunity to establish a more reliable basis for Claudiuss guilt than the claims of the ghost. Since he has no way of knowing whether to believe a member of the spirit world, he tries to determine whether Claudius is guilty by reading his behavior for signs of a psychological state of guilt.

While the performance of The Mousetrap is in itself clever, Hamlet's insistence to remain among the audience allows for him to prod Claudius during the play (You shall see anon how the murderer gets the love of Gonzago's wife,) with the intent of provoking some reaction noticeable by Horatio. Hamlet also peppers his conversation with Ophelia with sexual puns in an effort to sustain an appearance of mild madness. In short, this is a pivotal moment in the story that advances the plot by bringing our antagonist out into the open per se, while also restoring some faith in the Prince of Denmark.

All that having been said, we now look into the key components of the scene which can be broken down into three main parts. In the beginning, Hamlet is looking to inspire the players, warning the troupe to avoid exaggerating while also advising that they [B]e not too tame, neither; but let your own discretion be your tutor. Hamlet then confides in Horatio to be witness to Claudius' reactions to the performance. The second part of the play is involved with the performance, where Claudius watches the prologue or dumbshow, without reacting to the likeness of it's events to the crimes of his own life. He does, however, react strongly to the poisoning of the Uncle in the end of the play, abruptly calling for the lights to be brought back on before making a swift exit. Lastly, Horatio and Hamlet concur that Claudius' departure only validates the Ghost's assertions, right before Rosencrantz and Guildenstern arrive to drill Hamlet once again about his melancholy temperament.

Having outlined the scene and taken into consideration how it could and would be performed, I understood that some things had to be contained within certain parameters. Originally, I thought that Hamlet's play for Claudius and Gertrude would be more effective if the actual performance of 'The Mousetrap' was overly dramatized. I envisioned players that acted before a dark set, made more visually disturbing by lighting and silhouettes. The players themselves would wear costumes that exaggerated their features, made all the more feasible with the employment of masks to replace facial expressions. At that point, I believed that my intentions kept with the existing themes of the scene that suggest Hamlet was looking to disturb Claudius if possible, and that any angle taken would have been protected under the guise of his suspected madness. However, the players employed by Hamlet must be accomplished enough to first heed his advice before the performance, and then effectively relay the action of the play in a way that attracts Claudius' attention in such a manner that it provokes him to somehow make a scene. Since Hamlet requests that the players remain passionate but mild, there leaves little room for negotiation on how the players could portray the characters in the Vienna Murders that also make up The Mousetrap. This could easily be compensated for by shifting the focus to the spectacle aspect of theatre, where the brilliance and suspense of the performance take priority over the limited options given for the characters in the play within the play. Greater consideration could be given to the arrival and fanfare of King Claudius and Queen Gertrude as they approach Hamlet, only further complicated by his estranged behavior made necessary by his bizarre first few comments to his Uncle.

The final aspect of this scene, that carries with it considerable weight is Hamlet's behavior throughout the scene. Hamlet appears more in control of his own behavior in this scene than in the one before, as shown by his effortless manipulations of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and his frank conversation with Horatio. In this scene he seems to prove that he is not insane after all, given the effortlessness with which he alternates between wild, erratic behavior and focused, sane behavior. He is excited but coherent during his conversation with Horatio before the play, but as soon as the king and queen enter, he begins to act insane, a sign that he is only pretending. His only questionable behavior in this scene arises in his crude comments to Ophelia, which show him capable of real cruelty. It is between she and Hamlet that some controversy arises, whereas it is unclear whether he was ever really in love with Ophelia, as every comment in this scene is laced with sexual innuendo. For instance, she comments, You are keen, my lord, you are keen, complimenting him on his sharp intellect, and he replies, It would cost you a groaning to take off my edge. His interchange with Ophelia is a mere prelude to the passionate rage he will unleash on Gertrude in the next scene, so it is quite necessary for the actor portraying Hamlet to have a wide range.

As far as the setting is concerned, I would think it to be interesting to shift the time period to more modern surroundings, if not a different location. The only complication that would arise from a newly arrived modern setting would be the facilities with which Hamlet would have in his discretion to put together such a makeshift production for a performance exclusive to his immediate family and so forth. It may even then become necessary to establish Hamlet as a type of playwright or small stage director through costume, body language and other visual means. Shakespeare's characters are by no means vague, but they are not always subject to many restrictions that would keep a director or producer from finding new creative outlets through which to perform any of the Bard's plays.

If there exists any challenge in the staging of this scene, I see it in how you have to plant Hamlet among Claudius and Ophelia, where the audience of The Mousetrap is concerned. On one hand, Hamlet must remain eccentric when dealing with Ophelia and any of her advances, but on the other, he must demonstrate a resolve and certain level of calm in aggravating Claudius, and convincingly too. Unlike how Horatio must remain that calm center of the universe that Hamlet holds in such high regard, Hamlet must juggle his emotions around accordingly to fit his current situation, or else he faces exposure as well, in the eyes of an ambitious, if sometimes reluctant murderer.

Many people have seen Hamlet as a play about indecisiveness, and thus about Hamlets failure to act appropriately. This might be supported in other areas of the story, but I always admired Hamlet as a character, seeing him as having a higher potential for integrity and reflection than melancholy. It might then be more interesting to consider that the play shows us how many uncertainties our lives are built upon, how many unknown quantities are taken for granted when people act or when they evaluate one anothers actions.

I respect my dad more than any other person. He has worked very had for a lot of years to provide a good life for my mom my sister and I. He had a tough upbringing but he has developed into a hardworking man that truly enjoys life.

My dad was the oldest of three boys, and when he was young his father was hard on him. Granddad was an overly strict man. My dad was extremely athletic but never really got to the chance to play sports because granddad always had him working around the house and would not take him to practices or pick him up. My Dad has always been working hard ever since her was very young. When he was eleven he re-shingle his whole house. In high school he went to school during the day and stocked shelves at Safeway at night. My dad never thought he was very smart and he barely graduated high school. He didn't go to college. When he met my mom he joined the plumbers union and worked as an apprentice plumber. He would commute from Waldorf to Baltimore on a motorcycle because it was all he could afford. These were not happy days for my dad but when my sister and I were born he started to enjoy life.

When I was three my dad started his own plumbing business and started making really good money. Though he worked very hard he always stayed active and fun. My dad would come home from work and we would always do something together whether it was going on a bike ride or going to the tennis courts and banging the tennis ball around. He always played with me. He says that his most enjoyable times have been watching me play sports. My dad came to every practice and every game until I got to college. And never once did he say he couldn't throw the ball around with me.

My dad got out of the plumbing business and works as a maintenance man for the government now and he loves it because it has a lot less stress than running his own business. My dad is a very simple man, and I truly respect him for all his hard work. And I admire the way he lives.

In recent times gays and lesbians have rallied for the equality they believe they deserve in the community. Governments have long heard these cries and have revamped society's laws to satisfy the needs and wants of homosexuals. Things such as equal rights in marriage and parenting, the option for lesbian couples to use IVF treatment and recognition within the churches have long been the main objectives of homosexual activists during recent years in Australia. Churches in Australia have long had a role to play and response to all of the issues associated with sexuality debates.

The Christian church bases its faith and beliefs on the words of the Bible. This is why the church firmly believes that homosexuality is an abomination(the Holy Bible) and should be dealt with accordingly as it is a sin. However, in recent times the hierarchy's of many of the Christian denominations such as Catholicism, Church of England and Anglicans have expressed that they do not object to the individual being a homosexual. This is due to recent research results showing that homosexuality is a natural part of the full spectrum of human sexual activity. Christian denominations only object to those homosexuals who engage in sexual intercourse with someone of the same sex as it denies the belief that sexual intercourse is intended for procreation.

There is no doubt that in the Islamic faith that homosexuality is considered to be sinful. According to the beliefs of Muslims, homosexuality is considered to be a profound mistake, as it is not intending to do wrong. The Islamic faith also believes that humans are not homosexual by nature but become homosexuals because of their environment especially at the time of puberty. This is a key difference between Islamic faith and Christianity. As it is believed to be a sin in Islamic countries being a homosexual can result in the death penalty. In Australia this is not the case though Islamic groups here still believe that homosexuality is sin and should not be practised among it's followers.

Gays and lesbians have long rallied for the same rights that heterosexual partners enjoy when concerning marriage. In Australia same-sex marriages are not recognised by federal law. This means that same-sex relationships cannot receive dead partners superannuation because they are not recognised under federal law as being a partner. As of now homosexual relationships do not have equal rights to inheritance, medical decision-making and superannuation.

The Christian denominations in Australia such as Catholicism and The Church of England faith are in full support of the government's decision to not recognise same-sex marriages in Australia. They do so because they firstly believe that homosexuality is an abomination of the Lord. Secondly, the faiths see that these relationships are not seen as a union between male and female. This contradicts the often-final line of a Christian marriage service, I now pronounce you husband and wife. The Christian faiths believe that the recognition of same-sex partners is not the same as the union between husband and wife.

The Islamic faith also believes that same-sex relationships should not be recognised under their beliefs. The reasoning of this comes from ancient law of sexual activity. Islamic belief believes of a paradise for sexual activity. In this place they believe there are perpetual erections and countless orgasms. But due to human failure on earth this is not possible and so sexual intercourse should be kept to the confines of marriage and not outside so that human beings are not enticed to search for this paradise. This is the reasoning behind Islamic law saying that homosexuality is a sin and that same-sex relationships are not allowed in the Islamic faith.

Since the technological breakthrough of In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), homosexual groups have lobbied for the technology to be made available to lesbian couple's. At this point in time it is not made available to lesbian couple's wishing to start a family. Researches of the treatment knew at the time of its development it would be heavily scrutinised by major health groups and many moral discussions would be held on the subject. These include the big governmental discussion of who should be able to receive the treatment. Due to this Prime Minister Howard had come under scrutiny from many homosexual activists because he had declared that state parliaments should be able to declare who receives the treatment. Activists did not like this action taken by the Prime Minister because state laws at this point in time state that only heterosexual couples can receive the treatment.

The Christian churches also were involved in the discussions that took place over the treatment. The general view of the Catholic, Church of England and Anglican churches was that the treatment should still remain only available to those couples who could not produce children of their own due to medical problems. This view was shared throughout the churches because it still is the union between a man and women to procreate. A lesbian is believed to be different because often a male homosexual friend is the donor or the sperm is received from an anonymous donor. This is seen by the leaders of the church as adultery and in the teachings of the Bible adultery is a sin and should be dealt with accordingly or not be able to eventuate.

The Islamic faith has similar beliefs to the Christian denominations when concerning the treatment of IVF to lesbian couples in Australia. It believes that all creation should come from the uniting of man and women. This issue really only relates to non-Islamic countries as the Islamic countries do not have the technology to provide IVF to their people.

Since homosexuality come out of the closet it has fought for the recognition it deserves from the churches of Australia. Homosexual groups argue that they give more to the community than the credit they are given. Many homosexuals also feel the churches in Australia take advantage of the service they give to them.

The Catholic Church hierarchy feels there is no place for the homosexual community in the church. At a recent Roman Catholic service a group called the Rainbow Sash Movement were denied the right to receive communion by Archbishop George Pell. This act by Archbishop Pell caused outrage throughout the homosexual community and as a result the church came under a lot of scrutiny about their stance on homosexuality. However the Catholic Church and many other denominations still fail to recognise homosexuals in their church.

The Islamic faith also believes there is no room for homosexuals among their congregations. Although the church does not speak as publicly about the issue, there is still a strong feeling in the Islamic community that homosexuals should be elsewhere as they do not follow the teachings of the Holy Koran.

Homosexuals will long fight for what they believe is fair in the community and churches will go on following the beliefs they have been taught for thousands of years from holy texts such as the Bible and the Koran. However, times are always changing and in the not to distant future there may be lesbian couples with children or homosexual priests in the Catholic Church. This may be what is needed to keep Australia up with the ever-changing cultural concepts in this wide brown land.
